PARTNERSHIP CONTRACTS SIGNED WITH MUNICIPALITIES BERKOVIĆI AND LJUBINJE PDF Print E-mail

On January 17th 2012 Citizens’ Association „Nešto Više“ signed partnership contrats with municipalities Berkovići and Ljubinje defining the cooperation on two projects to be implemented during 2012. „Improvement of water supply system in Berkovići municipality“ and „Covering the drainage channel of rainfall in city zone of Ljubinje”
Project „Improvement of water supply system in Berkovići municipality“ aims at improving life conditions for 320 households in Berkovići municipality. This is achieved through enabling and protection of water source Trebesinj. With implementation of this project Berkovići municipality will be provided with a safe source of drinking water for its population. Upon the project completion the maintenance of the water source will be taken by public utility company „Vodovod“ from Berkovići.
Main project goal of „Covering the drainage channel of rainfall in city zone of Ljubinje” is improvement of eco conditions in Ljubinje municipality by covering Bukov brook, drainage channel that was used as illegal garbage disposal site in its lenght covering 64 m. Covered space will be turned into a playground for children.


Both project are supported by The MDG-F Programme Environment and Climate Change: “Mainstreaming environmental governance: linking local and national action in BiH” as well as by Municipality of Berkovići and Municipality of Ljubinje.
The MDG-F Programme Environment and Climate Change: “Mainstreaming environmental governance: linking local and national action in BiH” is a three-year programme funded by the Spanish Millennium Development Goals Achievement Fund which is being jointly implemented by five UN Agencies: UNDP, UNV, UNEP,  FAO and UNESCO, in partnership with the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations,  the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, the RS Ministry of Civil Engineering and Ecology, the RS Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water-Management, the FBiH Ministry of Ecology and Tourism, the FBiH Ministry of Agriculture, Water-Management and Forestry, the participating municipalities and civil society organizations.
