Association of Citizens has initiated the realization of the idea of mapping the accessibility of all schools in BiH for access to persons with disabilities (OSI). So far we have mapped 100 primary and secondary schools in Canton Sarajevo with help of USAID and the Open Society Fund of BiH. In order to cover other parts of BiH, the US Embassy in BiH has allowed to map the schools in Mostar and Banja Luka and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy has provided funds for mapping the ZE-DO Canton. Beside mapping we like to offer professional and economical solutions of possible adaptation of existing schools to create schools more accessible to OSI. The map is located at http://zelimznanje.com/map/ and our main aim is to enable young people, children, to have equal education as their peers. We want to enable them and their parents simple and fast access to find suitable school for their needs. With this map parents and their children do not have to visit every school individually. On the basis of the idea of architectural solutions, schools will know how much money they will need for adaptation. School will have good basis for seeking funds from competent institutions and donors, which will finally enable young people with disabilities to be more educated and independent through life.
